Only really briefly played some Diablo 3 today. It's been a long while. I wish I could have some elements of Diablo 3 to mix with those of Torchlight 2 to make the perfect dungeon crawler.
Where Diablo 3 has latency and downtime issues, horrible, infuriating randomised loot, oversimplified skills / the inability to choose your own stats, as well as a limited (as in a total of four usable) ability system.... Torchlight 2 doesn't look as damn pretty, its environments aren't half as interesting, and there are just elements of Diablo 3 I wish it had.
In the end I prefer Torchlight 2, as I have hotkeys 0-9 as well as two toggle-able mouse skills, granting me much more diverse combat options. I can also skill out the way I want to - sure, the class trees are rather small, but it's more option than I ever got in New Tristram. :-P
